ABC-TV is rolling out the latest season of its hit show, Dancing With the Stars, Tuesday night. And in order to drum up some attention and make sure the hoi polloi know about it, the network will have more than 100 dancers showcasing their talents around New York City tomorrow. The hoofers are scheduled to make impromptu appearances at various N.Y. landmarks like Times Square, the Staten Island Ferry, the Brooklyn Bridge, the New York Public Library and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, as well as atop a double-decker bus that will be cruising the city streets. Yeah, yeah, yeah, that sounds great, except for one itty-bitty problem: it’s New York! This is a city where folks don’t look twice when the circus parades its animals. And they expect us to stop and stare at common dancers? It’ll be more like, “Hey, ya wanna move it? I gotta get to work!” Break a leg. Heh.
