BAH, HUMBUG!

The three dogs (and one Stupid Cat) in our household are well taken care of, but we don’t go overboard. They’re animals, after all. So we have to admit to feeling a touch of disdain after receiving a release from PetSmart touting its upcoming list of “Top 14 Holidays Gifts for Pets.” (Yes, really…) During a live Webcast (A Webcast! Sheesh!) on Thursday, Nov. 2, “Members of the media are invited to log on to www.petsmartnews.com to see PetSmart’s top gifts for the 2006 holiday season and hear the PetSmart experts share their insights (Insights? Into squeaky toys??) into the popularity of these gifts, as well as the trends driving the industry today. A Q&A session will be held at the end of the presentation, and the PetSmart experts will be available for individual interviews.” Uhhh, we’ll pass. Our dogs will be getting new tennis balls to chase, and the cat (A.K.A., “The Little Junkie”) will be getting a fresh bag of catnip. Happy Holidays!
