Online diamond and jewelry seller Blue Nile knows a thing or two about engagement rings, and wishes the men who buy its products could say the same. A recent survey commissioned by the retailer asked women how they’d like to be proposed to. Some 94% of women said they prefer a private engagement over a splashy proposal; 84% of those asked said they’d rather have a romantic proposal than a gaudy ring; and 70% said they don’t care if the proposal is creative or imaginative, as long as the proposal happens at all!
