This was the headline of a release that found its way to us today: “House of Taylor Jewelry Introduces Elizabeth ‘Red Carpet Collection’ at the Oscars.” It might lead one to conclude that former screen star Liz Taylor would unveil her new jewelry collection adorning some Oscar nominees Sunday night, no? Well, not really. Further reading uncovered this mysterious line: “House of Taylor Jewelry, Inc., an international jewelry company whose principal shareholders include entities [Ed.: Meaning WHAT, exactly?) owned by Dame Elizabeth Taylor and Kathy Ireland, today announced the company will showcase jewelry designed by Dame Elizabeth Taylor at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel [italics added] in anticipation of the 79th Annual Academy Awards.” Ah. So it won’t exactly BE at the Oscars; just at a hotel, nearby. Got it. And not Sunday, either, but this Wednesday and Thursday. Thanks, Liz; we’ll get back to you.
