Web site Engage.com took a survey for Valentine’s Day to see who can be the most effective matchmaker in a single’s life, and to also draw some attention to itself in the increasingly crowded online dating field. Fair enough. According to Engage, 75% of respondents in the survey of 650 adults cited their best friend as the most effective matchmaker. And although eight out of 10 respondents said their Mom has tried to set-up or introduce them to someone, less than 5% said Moms make effective matchmakers. (Awwww, poor mom. She just wants you to be happy.) And flogging this dead horse just a little further, Engage.com is encouraging happy couples to take time on Feb. 13th to remember the person who helped them meet their special Valentine on what it calls, "Thank Your Matchmaker Day." Yeah, we’ll get right on that.
