Now that the Super Bowl hoopla is fading, marketers are blasting us with gift ideas for Valentine’s Day (to be followed in short order by Mardi Gras, St. Patrick’s Day, and Easter, if you’re keeping score.), and one California vendor has a unique idea, but the suggested execution might cause alarm—or worse. Mark Ukra, known as “Dr. Tea,” is pushing his white “Amore” tea blend, containing South African Rooibos tea, semi-sweet chocolate and bits of delicate rose. Sounds delightful, and might make a different gift in place of the usual chocolates and roses. But the headline on his pitch gave us pause. He wrote: “Give Your Favorite Valentine a Gift That Doesn't Go to Her Hips [italics added for emphasis] With Dr. Tea's Sweet and Healthy Chocolate, Rose and Lavender Infused Teas.” Ooooh, you know what? Just Don’t Say That when presenting your tea-gift. And there had better be some bling in the box, too. Trust us on this one. More tea-related gift ideas are at Tea Garden.com
The owner of the Tea Garden, Dr. Tea, now hosts a great weekly video podcast all about tea called "Tea Tips with Dr. Tea": www.teatips.tv
