Namco Networks, a publisher and developer of wireless games and content, says it, too, is going to bring back a cartoon icon from days past: Popeye the Sailor Man. (And yes, you will now hear that maddening tune in your head for the rest of the day. Snorry.) The San Jose, Calif., company announced it plans to bring the “classic arcade hit Popeye” to mobile phones through a partnership with King Features. Never mind that Popeye first appeared back in 1929, and has little relevance to today’s kids. Most folks will want to download it simply to hear Popeye utter his famous tagline, “Well, Blow Me Down.” And then collapse in sophomoric giggles.
