Everyone’s trying to save a buck or two on gasoline costs these days, but we may have to pass on one idea out of the U.K. A company called Jeffrey Automotive is marketing a do-it-yourself electric car kit—made out of wood—which they claim can be built for $5,000 or less in your garage. Even better, they say it gets 50-60 miles on a single charge, at up to 60 mph. All the details are at their Web site, Electric-Cars-Plans.com. One problem: There are no pictures of the completed car, just illustrations. Yeah, and we're Fred Flintstone.
