Cargo Cosmetics of New York is jumping on the “green” bandwagon in a big way with PlantLove lipstick. According to a release, the product is packaged in a “compostable tube made entirely from corn.” Further, even the box it comes in is recyclable: “The carton is made with biodegradable paper infused with flower seeds. Simply moisten the packaging and plant. In weeks, a beautiful arrangement of wild flowers will grow.” Nicely done, but we think their copywriter went a tad overboard with the headline. It reads: “CARGO Cosmetics Introduces PlantLove: The First Lipstick That Helps Fight Global Warming.” Ummm, no, it doesn’t; not really.
