Our colleague Jim Edwards runs the print version of “Short Takes,” and occasionally invites readers to send in their suggestions for his caption contest. This time he wants your input on the picture that ran in our May 7 issue, available for viewing down below, described thusly: “Florida real estate advertising has gotten wackier in recent years, as this ad for the Oceanside apartments in Pompano Beach demonstrates. It shows a man eating dinner on a moonlit night while his girlfriend eyes a school of fish flying above them. That's a pile of rocks to his right, if you're wondering. The actual apartments are relegated to the background and, in case you missed them, to the inside of a framed photograph sitting on the sea's surface. The focus of the ad? A forkful of pasta, of course. The surreal result screams, "I just figured out how to use Photoshop!" Can you, Brandweek readers, supply a witty caption for this ad? Send your answers—multiple entries are allowed—in an e-mail to jedwards@brandweek.com. Please write ‘Oceanside caption contest’ in the subject line. We'll print the funniest entries in a couple of weeks.”
