Toyota Motor Corp. is pretty protective of its “Lexus” marque, but the automaker might be going a bit too far this time. According to the Detroit Free Press, Toyota has filed a lawsuit against two Dearborn, Mich., people, alleging that they appropriated the name “Lexus” for both an adult Web site and the star of said site. According to the paper, “The suit alleges the site ‘uses the mark “Lexus” in an unwholesome and unsavory context’ and ‘is likely to tarnish and blur the distinctive qualities’ of the car model.” (Oh, Puh-LEEEZE!) We tried looking for the site to see if the confusion was justified, but got stopped by our company’s Web Search Policies. (Hey! How are we supposed to get ANY research done around here?!) Hmph.
