U.K. sofa company sofa.com got more than they bargained for in a recent auction. They went on eBay and offered a drive of “The World’s Fastest Sofa” to the highest bidder, with monies raised going to the Foundation for the Study of Infant Deaths. Gardner Marke Turowski won, and got to race the “machine” while being videotaped. In doing so, he set a new world record for “sofa-racing.” But even better, the video made it to YouTube (See it HERE), and the company then turned it into a :30 TV spot featuring the tagline “Sofas Delivered Fast.” YouTube views of the drive are at 70,000 and climbing. Nicely done.
