BioFit Engineered Products makes ergonomic seating solutions, but their latest marketing effort might not be such a hit with some folks. In an effort to sell more chairs, they’re pushing BuildMyChair.com, aimed at parents of college kids. “It's important to give students the support they need to feel comfortable in their new surroundings. One way is to make sure they're studying in an ergonomically correct chair. BuildMyChair.com makes it easy to find the perfect gift for any college student,” they said in a release. Wait, WHAT? These kids get to go off for four years of subsidized living (and, let’s face it, partying) and someone thinks they need a Comfy Chair on top of everything else? We think NOT! When we were in school, we sat on a milk crate and LIKED IT! (And the fact that we have our co-ed home for the summer—replete with all her drama—has NOTHING to do with our feelings.)
