It’s no secret that Americans are getting bigger, and smart marketers are recognizing this fact for the opportunity it presents. Faithful reader Maria P. (Whom we may have to put on the payroll for all the leads she sends us) points us today in the direction of Great John.com, which produces toilets for, errr, “prosperous” customers. The commodes are larger than the standard size, with “150% more sitting area than a standard elongated toilet seat and 200% more than a standard round toilet seat,” they claim on their site. How big is that, really? Well, they helpfully provide a stick-drawing illustration of what it might look like from above the bowl, looking down at someone sitting on both a regular ‘toidy, and one of theirs. A little tacky? Perhaps. But go to the Web site, click on the “See the Difference” illustration and decide for yourself.
