We got a pitch from an independent filmmaker looking to tell the story of one of New York’s favorite times of day: 4:20. For those not in the know, urban legend has it that that’s the time of day cannabis fans fire up their favorite smoke, and director Christine Goulden wants to make a Sundance-worthy documentary about the topic. But in order to finance it, she’s asking for small donations from, well, potheads and their supporters. “If I can get 1,000 people to donate $20 or 2,000 people to donate $10, we'll be able to fund this project entirely on the kindness of strangers," she said in a release. Maybe. But the cynic is us would like to know how much of that money is going for film, and how much for Ho-Hos and Doritos. Details and a trailer can be seen at MySpace.com/420film. Who’s up for a food run?
