Sir Mix-a-Lot might have been ahead of his time with his 1992 song in praise of curvaceous women, but one U.K. company has finally caught up. Display Sense Co. is a maker of lifelike clothes mannequins, and they’ve just announced they’re rolling out a line of “…female mannequins with larger posteriors brought on by the changing ethos towards weight and the growing trend against ‘size zero.’” (And we DO love the Brits’ gift for understatement.) The company thinks it may have a hit on its hands, and stated, “The first large-bottomed mannequins are expected to be exhibited early in the New Year with the hope that mass distribution can begin during the spring period. It is expected that these larger female mannequins will create quite an impact and if the market research is anything to go by, sales of large size jeans, trousers and shorts are set to go through the roof.” And we just spent waaaay too much time scouring their site looking for one of the “models.” Yes, as noted previously, we have a weird job.
