THESE HORNS AIN'T THE ONLY THINGS BRASS

This is a weird one. A Canadian artist is trying to start a buying frenzy for what he calls Love Horns. As best we can make out from his site, he installs old-timey bike horns (The kind with a rubber squeeze-bulb on the end) inside colorfully painted boxes. Then when you have one in your home, you toot the horn. “When a Lovehorn is properly installed and utilized, it offers the honker the ability to call out a message of love. This is useful when one needs to give or get love but cannot find a way to say it; be it hugs, praise, tickles, winks, smooches, cuddles, forgiveness or high fives,” they note in a release. Sounds lovely. The price? Not so lovely. The ones we saw at Love Horns started at $250 and went up to $400. For a painted box with a cheap horn? We’re not feelin’ the love. (And there was a joke in here somewhere utilizing the word “blows”, but we resisted. Just so you know.)
