As the writer’s strike drags on in Hollywood, TV shows are casting about for ways to hang on to their audiences until a settlement is reached and new shows come back on the air. One idea being pushed comes courtesy of mobile game developer Gameloft, which has come out with Grey’s Anatomy: The Mobile Game. A release from the company touts it as “a perfect balance of gameplay and content, as the challenging mini-games will resonate with the male audience, while women will be engaged with the game’s unfolding drama and character interaction.” (SFX: Jim Carrey voice: “Oh, Reallllly?”) We like the show, too, but to play a game based on it, on a handheld device? Not so much. Here’s a better idea; why not just pay the writers for content being sold online? Isn’t that what this is all about anyway? Just wondering.
