We were a bit taken aback by the newest offering from Revision Eyewear, makers of eye protection for the military. The Vermont company is marketing the Hellfly Ballistic Sunglass, which it touts as offering “unrivaled ballistic protection.” Their release goes on in great detail (Specifics can be found at their Web site, Revision Eyewear.com), but this line gave us pause: “The wrap-around design allows for a wide field-of-view while protecting the wearer from harmful rays, wind, dust and unexpected fragments.” Unexpected Fragments?! We’ll have to keep that phrase in mind the next time we whine about the office being too hot or too cold.
